Boston College, out of fear of losing financial support from conservative alumni and not obtaining Vatican approval to merge with the Weston School of Theology, canceled “AIDS Benefit Gala, A Celebration of Diversity,” an AIDS fundraiser sponsored by a student LGBT group, after the release of the new Vatican document on priesthood and homosexual tendencies. The college cancelled the event, scheduled for December 9, without warning and shared their concern that the event would be exclusively gay.

Tickets had bee printed, and Veronica Joseph one of the student organizers told 365Gay.com there had been a lot of “positive buzz” on campus…
