I hate hate hate hate hate the topic of drugs in the gay community. I hate it because it has gotten to the point where you cannot go out to certain clubs without feeling like you have to take something to be cool. And as more people die everyday, no one seems to stop using. Do that many of us really think our lives are worthless? If so, we, as a community, need to fix whatever problems are causing this feeling. We need to do it soon. We need to do it now.

If you stop doing drugs with us, we won’t speak to you anymore
– it’s very high school peer pressure-ish and very dangerous. You should not have to die to make friends, and you don’t have to. I wish I could just get that across to one person trying to put their life back on track but fearful they will lose their “crew.”

“I’m not anti-partying or anti-sex,” he said. “But how can we fight for our rights as a sexual minority if we don’t establish what’s right and wrong in our community, and look out for each other.”

“We didn’t come through the AIDS epidemic, and the battles over gays in the military and gay marriage, to end up here, a community filled with drug addicts,” he said. “We’ve fought too long and too hard to let this drug take us down.”
