Father Arrested Objecting to Homosexual Curriculum

LEXINGTON, Mass, April 29, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – David Parker was arrested Wednesday by Lexington Police, allegedly for “trespassing” at his son’s elementary school, while attending a scheduled meeting with the principal and the city’s Director of Education over his objections to homosexual curriculum materials and discussions in his son’s kindergarten class.

According to an “Article 8 Alliance” press release, at the meeting, Parker requested that the school inform him of when homosexual discussions would take place, so he could exclude his son from the activity. He said he would not leave until his request was granted. The Principal and the city’s Director of Education both refused his request. They then telephoned the Superintendent of Schools who also refused. Police were called, who told Parker that unless he left the school, he would be arrested.

How does someone get here? How do you get to a place, mentally, where you are so bothered by your child being present for homosexual discussions at school that you refuse to leave your son’s school until they agree to notify you before any discussion including homosexuality so you can save him from such a disgusting topic? It seems literally crazy to me.

  4. Parents on March 4th, 2007

If we don’t stand for something we will go for any and everything!!! Certainly, this is an issue and parents should have a say, as to what is being taught to their children. Especially, when it’s a controversial subject that has been added to the schools curriculum; the parents should have been notified by letter. This would have prepared parents to take action by expressing their concerns to the superintendent. It also would have given parents an opportunity to explore other options for their children; home schooling or seek out a private school. Most important, it is essential that as parents we continue to teach our children morals and values and not compromise by allowing society to infiltrate their minds.
