This is ridiculous, this man needs to be stopped at all cost. All this is doing is putting a wall or a bridge up against people that are straight and people that are like myself... The hatred and all the hate crimes against gays needs to stop because if this keeps up there will be no more us any more and we cant help it because God made me and every one else this way because no two people are the same no not one and he all accepts us for who we are but it may be a sin to act on it but not for being who we are but this subject is highly heated and really burns my butt because i am one of those gay people and i do not like what is going on....

Yeah... if everyone had a little peace inside themselves, then there'd be no hate.
Love and self reflection lost to most of our society. That's why I support and think we need to pass on a little goodness in the wordl.
Meditation is the key to finding life's answers.
“Meditation in 5 Days” is a really effective course that gives you surprising results within five days. Intended both for people who do not currently practice meditation and for people who want to improve their skills and experience several forms of meditation. The course’s innovative approach allows each person to master meditation quickly and easily while achieving long-lasting results.

If everyone found a little time each day to reflect, then the world would be a better place.

Hooray for the rugby players. The soccer players are an embarrassment...kudos for Miss Fashanu, how unfortunate to have the father she has.

One wonders what's so lacking in these manly soccer players that having a gay man in the club would so decimate them.
Little sniggling gang of bully-boys.

There was a similar concept a few years back except that it was a gay man looking for a man from a field of ten to fifteen. He had his female best friend to assist him and the group would go on 'Dates' where both the fag hag and leading man would spend one on one time with each. It was revealed when there were only six men left that originally there were about half of the men were straight. The prize money went the same as the description of this one. Fortunately, he did choose a gay man. Both instances show that people want to see gay people, but view us more as entertainment than real people.

I just read an article that had a letter that was discovered from an American slave to his previous master who had requested that the former slave and his family return to work and they would be compensated. As the former slave pointed out, before he was freed he and his family were treated the same as the animals that were bred and worked the farms along side the slaves.

Now we have straight people using gays as entertainment just as they would a circus or zoo. Fun to watch, but best kept at length with no rights.

@ Lisa S
The difference (at least for me) is that "To Wong Foo" was a fictional movie, "Will and Grace" was a sitcom, "Ru Paul's Drag Race" was at least people being PROUD of who they are.
That's the main thing, that was all about pride, being an individual.
This show is all about lying and covering it up, like it's something to be ashamed of. We've spent decades trying to rid ourselves of this insane need to fit into society and change ourselves to suit others, and then we accept a show that destroys the basic principles of that.

The entire concept of the show is lying, pretending to be straight. And for a cash prize. It sends a message that gay people should lie, that hiding who they are is something to reward.

That's why I'm critical of it, and that's why I won't watch it. But then I'm so over all the reality bullshit anyway ;)

Cara says she would be hurt if Dean is lying about being straight, perhaps she would be more upset if she knew the truth about him… and his girlfriend - the stunningly beautiful Alex May - Miss South East , from The Miss England Final ... Some seem to want the money SO badly seems they will lie into the programme, and continues to tell lies really well on screen. Cara beware, whether he is straight or gay may be less of a worry than finding out that this guy seems to be a real professional…...liar. And when he wins - don't be surprised because so many already know he does -It really is amazing what people will do for money. Sorry Cara, he was even lying about his ‘bond’ with you.. he seems to be very bonded with his girlfriend too… Dean seems really very good at this game of deceit..poor Cara, what a rotten thing to do to her so publicly.

I'm kind of glad they took it off. What if they were looking for a job and went into a place that they noticed that there were no black people working there and they did the old black face routine.

I have to say I agree with most of your points. But this show doesn't do anymore than "Too Wung Fo" "Will and Grace" "Ru Paul's Drag Race" didn't already. I mean lets face it, the monster we all love called "media" is never going to change and its delusional to this these show don't have an audience. Straight women everywhere will line up to pick out the gay because women in real life use this as a pass time in real life. If we ourselves as gay people could commit to being open about ourselves, then shows like this wouldn't have any viability, but the truth is until we come out, we are just "playing straight"

Nick Carter wins over Justin Timberlake due to being an extraordinarily BEAUTIFUL man both in body and FACE. I'm sorry, but Justin TImberlake just is not a handsome man. Sure he has a banging body, but you'd have to put a bag over his face to do him. Hell, I'd rather do a man with 20 extra pounds than a man I can't look into the eyes of. Sorry Justin, Nick has you on this one.

Levi,

Wow. What can be said about a handsome rodeo star turns gay Hollywood hunk! You deserve better than being in a show with such flaming idiots. The back stabbing, the bitchyness, is the reason that A-List wont be around long. I have seen you around Bergeron, being from ft laud myself, and I get hard every time I see you in your cowboy gear. Hope to see "more" of you.

Levi, why in the world would you get mixed up with all of these ridiculous queens that have nothing to do but talk shit about each
other. Your the only man in this show all the others belong on Rupaul's Drag show not representing Dallas. Are there no men gay or straight that actually act like men in your city? I certainly would not visit there if this is the case. They gross me out. Who wants to see a bunch of
faires fluttering around trying to act fabulous when they are clearly not. Me and my friends have more money than probably all of you put together and none of them act like such fucken faggots.

That's a good question. Personally, I think we got over the worst of it in the 1990's. However, when you look around the world, there are plenty of other nations where they are certainly not up to speed. In Iran and Syria they still routinely imprison and execute gay people. So why are we not protesting that? Our governments are supposedly supportive of Human Rights, yet they remain silent when it's an ally committing those atrocities. And the people stay silent too.

The one thing that we can all see and understand is that our basic rights and freedoms are still being fought over. It's no longer about race, religion or sexual orientation. This involves everyone, and the battle is now going to be between the people and the government/corporations. As we can see, there's a still a whole lot of miles to be marched to reclaim what we thought we already had - a truly democratic representation of the people in positions of leadership.

The BBC is arrogant and has wasted money, it is unable to afford F1 because having overspent on grandiose schemes there's no money in the bank. Can we reverse this fact of life? No. If the Contract has been signed we can't reverse that either - no doubt there are massive penalty clauses.

Have you heard of GuySpy?

Is the newest gay dating app for smart phones and you can even use it in your computer. You can meet guys in your area faster and easier.

Comes with great features like Cruise & Buzz, but what I like the most is that allows you to share video. Pretty addicktive. (If you know what I mean)

Check it out http://www.guyspy.com

Until the Greek Administration gets its act together on the legal issue of same sex marriage, people still need to live their lives as they choose to. We can offer the next best thing to a legal ceremony - Commitment Ceremonies in the greek island of Lesbos

I just found out too that Bank of America canceled their agreement with the Rainbow Endowment as of September 30, 2011. They sent me replacement cards without the Rainbow logo. Does anyone know why B of A did this?

Bank of America just cancelled the Rainbow Card. They will no longer be contributing to the Rainbow Foundation, which is causing the Foundation to close. This is no longer an option.

I agree with you to an extent, but I think really organized religion is the really damaging aspect of it. I have my beliefs, as I'm sure you do to, so there is a big difference between being spiritual and being determined to inflict those personal beliefs onto others. That's the part about the whole organized religion thing that drives me crazy; people who scream about gay people "influencing" others are the same people who are determined to make everyone else live by their belief systems.
I have to admit, I wouldn't mourn any day when an organized religious group dies.

RYAN MINER still makes fun of gays all the time. i used to work with him at a job. no one could stand him because of his arrogance and ignorance. i had to unfriend him on facebook because of the offensive remarks he was making about women's rights. Stop lying to the public about how sorry you are and what you think you learned since 19. and grow up RYAN R. MINER!!!

I have 2 hurinated discs from the military (VA Denying it Ever Happened) and my back has gone out 10 times since after getting out in 1995. I thought that was painful, unable to walk and difficulty sleeping and eat, so many other simple/regular things most people do (writing/typing to going out or bathing) daily.

It was difficult to see my VA Doctor, so I made an issue and he saw me the next day. Because of the pain/iching (that would not stop), I stopped cutting. After having the blisters in my hair for a week, got the point I couldn't even touch my hair, yes it was extremely painful, but was so much more painful when touching my skin.

My VA Doctor had me tested and said that it was caught/diagnosed early, then put me on heavy medications. Within 3-4 weeks, there where no new blisters starting. After that, they were all gone in 2 months after starting to taken the meds, but the pain was worse after taking the meds and lasted for about 3 or 4 weeks.

But, I had a heart attack last year and the pain was nothing like the shingles, had two stents put in.

MR. Rabby says..I have a question. In South Asia, popular media and the government use the terms ‘transvestite’ and ‘eunuch’ as umbrella terms even in legislation. Are these problematic and why are they predominantly used in South Asia?

Me also..

I fully understand that such processes need to be automated. However, their response to the media uproar and their delays in rectifying the situation certainly exposed a clear problem.
This was not kept quiet, it was all over the Internet within an hour, and FB still did nothing.
If only for their public image this should have been acted on within that hour, and yet they chose to continue to go through a ridiculous process of investigation and assessment, only acting when the uproar smacked them in the face and thousands of duplicate images flooded the network.
Either way, the fact that FB had to drag its heels while the story continued to roll and the uproar amongst the community grew certainly makes it appear that they were forced to back down rather than taking the sensible decision themselves.

I concede that this could simply be a case of accidental offense being caused (by FB toward the gay community) but you would have thought that FB would have an inkling about how this would play out, and act on it immediately. They might not have needed to be forced into backing down, and they might very well have decided that the image was flagged incorrectly and then restored it as soon as possible, but the fact that it took the community to actively argue the case before it was done is indicative of other motives in my opinion.

Conran,

While I'm not normally in the business of making excuses for Facebook, what you might not be aware of is that FB has an *automated* system for responding to reports of supposedly "offensive" user-posted material on the mega-site. For some categories of "offense" that system automatically yanks the material from view while it goes into a queue for a staffer to review, pending final dispensation.

Until just recently, users were not even informed when their pictures were reported like this or removed - it just disappeared. Due to the far too many incidents of abuse of the system, exactly like this one, FB has implemented the new policy of informing users that their pictures have been reported and allowing them to challenge the report to get them restored quickly. This is exactly what the original poster of the picture did.

In reality, this happens far too often on Facebook. Recently, Jason Dottley, the hunky star of the tv show Sordid Lives had a BABY PICTURE reported as "offensive" for being "sexually suggestive" and had to go through the exact same routine, because someone on his page kept reporting his pictures to get them removed.

Unfortunately, Facebook is a very large site and there are a lot of very stupid and immature people on it. They have to have some sort of system in place to deal with all the internet porno stars, call girls and whatnot. Are there going to be people who abuse it? Heck yeah! Are they doing their best to adapt and change as problems pop up? Yup!

Is Facebook biased against the LGBT community? Not in the slightest!! In fact, if you dig deep enough, you'll find that one of the co-founders & his husband(!) is a big supporter of the equality movement here in California, plus they are a great equality employer here, too.

This incident was simply a case of a Facebook user not fully understanding the situation, or how the system worked, then making a huge deal out of nothing to get a lot of unnecessary publicity. Case closed.

Great commentary! Yes, those persecuted Christians are complaining about WHAT? again.... Can you tell me how they are being mistreated in our country?

Oh, yes, they are having a hard time stopping gay people from getting in the military or getting married.....

I guess it IS time to feel sorry for them (sarcasm intended).

Dear Daily Dose of Queer,

We at The Hear Me ROAR! Project really appreciate your post on the importance of getting LGBT young people's voices heard. That is EXACTLY what we work to do! Based in NY The Hear Me ROAR! Project uses art to raise awareness about the experiences and needs of queer youth and we are in the process of collecting an oral history at an emergency homeless shelter for LGBT youth. If you visit our website, you will have a chance to hear clips from our interviews with these AMAZING youth! Thank you for your good work and of course we would always love to hear what you think.

That is great that the small island would approve of gay marriage and horrible that the mayor was threatened. I went to Greece years ago and it was amazing and gay friendly. It's a shame that a country that is very progressive is also very conservative. Great article.

I guess i'm the only queer man who not only wears jean shorts, but could give a damn less where my sunglasses are, lol. I also am the proud owner of 6 pink bowls. If you want fancy shades by the pool and Ralph Lauren, I would guess that you are the one being stereo typical. Being gay is just a part of who I am, so sorry I don't live up to your standards, lmao.By the way, what have you got against Salsa Verde?

I am a premium member of gay.com. For the past 5 days I've been unable to log into my account. It states my member name or password are incorrect. I have also been unable to e-mail gay.com regarding this problem. My e-mails are returned saying the addresses are insufficient. When I call HereMedia, I cannot speak to anyone live at gay.com, only leave messages. Is anybody else having this problem?

I was seeking out specifics on the subject of Thursday's headlines regarding the Justin Bieber finger nail polish and I ended up on this site. I can not wait to get the Bieber nail polish. I believe that my first prospect to spend money on the nail polish will be when it sells at Wal-Mart. I believe that that this will be a great Christmas gift for all his fans!

If you are on the road use Gayjin - a travel guide on iPhone and iPod Touch for gay and lesbian community ( gayjin.info ). Gayjin is full with online and offline maps (think data roaming charges!), essential selection of attractions and cultural activities, great restaurants and cafes, pubs and adult entertainment to keep your excited during your travel. It is far more convenient than any gay guidebook!

Great points - "partnerships" have changed over time, and so has recordkeeping. Even if you can find a document, you can't assume that "roommates" were also lovers, and to decrypt times when "marriage" and "love" were separate things, you have to look for the documentation in different places. Like we did with Abraham Lincoln, where we found the love letters that spoke more than the marriage certificates ever would.

This is still not resolved today - domestic partnership registries, when they exist, are not as well-documented as marriage registries; geonology software kicks and screams when you try a same-sex marriage; technologies like surrogacy and adoption confuses blood-lines and hopelessly thwarts record-keeping.

Indeed Grindr is a good choice for hooking up wherever you are. But it is not very useful as a travel app. A great app while on the road is the new Gayjin guide for iPhone (gayjin.info ). Gayjin apps have built-in offline city maps and cool listings of the gay essential gathering places. I've tried and tested it various times to get around London and Buenos Aires and it was helpful to me.
