Hey, Megan, love the idea of Machu Picchu for a gay honeymoon. SO much more interesting than the “circuit party” destinations chosen by OutTraveler as the Top 5 spots for a homo honeymoon. (See travelgaygent.wordpress.com/2008/10/02/top-5-homo-honeymoon-spots-really.)

Everyone is different, of course, but I like to recommend thinking outside the box for a honeymoon … it should be once-in-a-lifetime, after all.

I’d recommend staying somewhere where you are recognized as a couple…it makes a world of difference in how it feels.

Also, if you’re a woman, there is a review on Provincetown that might prove helpful if you are thinking of going to Cape Cod. I found it funny, and very informative…

We lived on the island of Kauai. Very friendly & beautiful. We’d recommend staying at Princeville or Poipu (my favorite part of the island)
