Porn does not depict subordination, but sexual freedom. Unless you mean fetish bondage films that do depict consenting adults getting off on being dominated? It is MY basic right to watch and enjoy porn as much as it is the performer's right to fuck on film. Deb, if YOU have a problem with this, it is well within your right not to watch porn, but leave the rest of us the fuck alone!

"Who wants to visit a country that bans porn or takes away basic rights?"

...the desire of a person to watch people engaging in sex acts on a screen is not and should not be a "basic right". it's something you want to do to enable you to become sexually aroused.

basic rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom of expression, and equality before the law; and social, cultural and economic rights, including the right to participate in culture, the right to food, the right to work, and the right to education.

additionally, if porn is sexually explicit material that depicts men and women's subordination in such a way as to endorse that subordination, then even a hamfisted effort to try to reduce its distribution is doing something positive. of course it won't work, but at least it has opened up some kind of debate.

Its very odd that a country where brothels and/or escorting is legal in most states should ban porn. I wonder how they plan on actually enforcing this law – its already the case that its technically illegal to operate a porn site from within Australia, but that hasn't stopped Abby Winters and a few related operations from setting up very successful sites there.

Totally off the subject. I was just wondering if any one out there in Lesbo-land knows anything about Queer Aussie Actress Leah Pellinkhof. I saw her in a short film called Philter.n and in a show at the mid summer festival in Melbourne years ago. apparently now she is a writer and Director in film and theatre. I Heard thru the gay vine she was interviewed on Brisbanes Dykes on Mic’s reciently any info on her next performance would be appreciated. Would die to see some pic’s of this hottie. Only photo I can find is face book. Not Stalking Just a fan.
