I have been feeling entitled…

The Gender Genie “uses a simplified version of an algorithm…to predict the gender of an author.”

I submitted the text of “Keeping up with the Donald” to the Genie. The results:

Female Score: 99
Male Score: 237

The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!

This must be why I get so much satisfaction out of knowing I’m bigger.

Ha – I came back male too. Does that mean I am really a man? Damn, I have some explaining to do, if so LOL

Actually I think it just shows the limitations behind this type of analysis. It’s a fun idea, but not a great indicator of what gender the writer really is.

Hey! I blogged about the Gender Genie too — just a couple of years ago (it thought I was male, too — which I was less happy about). ::grin::

I’m split, as usual. Transcending Gender is written by a male. A Life Less Convenient is written by a female.

For one blog entry the result was
    Female: 169
    Male: 159

    For another, it was
    Female: 375
    Male: 394

And for a third, shorter one it was
    Female: 71
    Male: 129

What the hell does that mean? Wait … I’m not sure I want to know …
