Candis Cayne, a trans actress, will take on the portrayal of a trans character on CSI: NY beginning January 24th. The Windy City Times recently interviewed Candis about her new role.
Uh, do you think Candis Cayne is in danger of getting typecast?
She might be, but I think what matters most is how she feels about it. It might not bother her.
Candis, are you reading this? How would you feel about being repeatedly offered trans roles?
Woohoo! I’m thrilled with this. I have asked in the past why transwomen aren’t cast in transwomen roles (and, of course, I think we should see transmen as well). I’d love to hear Candis’ reaction to the above question.
