Jay, Winter, Matt, Paula - thank you for your approval! It was my pleasure and privilege to host the Carnival on this occasion - I hope that it encouraged some people to read the entire posts on their respective homes, and to read around more widely on those blogs.

Matt - yes, it does seem tragically ironic. I don’t say that “it couldn’t happen here” (i.e. in the UK) - just that “it isn’t happening here”, to anything like the same extent, at the moment, in my opinion. And that’s when watchfulness and vigilance is *most* needed - so that the problem doesn’t creep up unnoticed.

Great wrapup of the carnival! I’m loving how the diversity of the article topics keep growing. Proving once again that the queer community is supremely diverse and present in all corners of society and the globe….

“Reading the nine scenarios that Matt lists - which, as he states, are not exhaustive - I have to agree. Not the first time, I breathe a sigh of relief that I am a citizen of the United Kingdom, where the situation isn’t perfect, but, in my opinion, is nowhere near as scary as in the US.”

Pretty sad considering that the reason our US Founding Fathers broke away from Britain is so we could be more free and have more liberty. Doesn’t make any sense does it?
