Scary, horrible stuff - but to put it into perspective, nobody ever said domestic violence wasn't a gender- or sexuality-specific issue. Actually, they did... I once met a lesbian in the late 80s who said domestic violence didn't exist in lesbian relationships. At the time, I saw it on a par with the idea that all pornography degrades women, even gay male pornography (of course, whether gay male pornography degrades men is another debatable issue entirely...!). x Sheesh, I live in the UK and didn’t see this reported on the news over here.
